Blue Ox is excited to hold the Second Annual Memorial Day Murph!
We will be doing our workout at 5:30PM, and having a potluck BBQ afterwards. Please bring something to share!
What is the “Murph?”
Murph is a CrossFit “Hero WOD” done to remember and honor the great Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Lt. Murphy’s favorites, which he named “Body Armor”. But due to his incredible sacrifice, it is now referred to in the CrossFit community as “Murph.”
We participate to remember the honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
“Murph” may be scaled to fit ALL ABILITIES! You can do a 1/2 Murph if you’d like. A 1/4 Murph. You can do Murph until you just don’t feel like doing it anymore! AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO WEAR A WEIGHT VEST OR BODY ARMOR!
No matter your ability, this is a fun and challenging workout for everyone! We’re all in it together! You do NOT have to be a “CrossFitter” to attend!

Have a great Memorial weekend and see you on Monday!
